Chinese church and Bible study for international students in Sydney

Studying at UNSW, the University of Sydney or UTS and looking for a Mandarin or Cantonese Bible study or church? Here are Chinese groups on and near campus.

Studying far from home brings pressure: classes, part-time work, homesickness. A group where you can talk in Chinese and read the Bible together makes a real difference. Here are Chinese-language options on and near campus.

UNSW: FOCUS

FOCUS UNSW meets on the Kensington campus:

  • Friday 7:00pm Mandarin Bible study (Library 191)
  • Friday 7:00pm Cantonese Bible study (Blockhouse G15)
  • Sunday 10:00am English service (Keith Burrows Theatre J14)
  • Wednesday and Thursday 11:00am International Bible study (English)

City, near UTS and the University of Sydney: St Barnabas Broadway (Barneys)

Barneys in Ultimo offers Mandarin interpreting at both Sunday English services:

  • Sunday 10:00am (with kids' programme)
  • Sunday 5:30pm (supper from 5:00pm)

CBD: St Andrew's Cathedral

St Andrew's Cathedral, next to Town Hall:

  • Sunday 12:00pm Mandarin Bible study
  • Sunday 10:30am English service with AI live translation and printed sermon translation

Times come from the churches' own listings and occasionally change, so check the church page before your first visit.
